Choose your must-haves
List the requirements a provider must confirm, then select a few preferences to compare. Product handling and channel support may be mandatory; a reporting feature may be negotiable. Make the distinction before assigning scores.
Check the reason behind each score
Write down the answer or evidence that supports your assessment. If the information is missing, ask a follow-up question. The result is a personal decision aid, not a verified ranking of the fulfillment market.
Keep an evidence trail
For each assessment, record the requirement, the supporting example or document, the date, and the unresolved questions. Distinguish a published capability from an account-specific demonstration. Mark missing information as unknown. Where you use a numerical score, explain the meaning of the scale and the reason for the weight. Your notes should make it possible to revisit a conclusion when the proposal or operating conditions change.
Use the result to choose the next conversation
Separate the requirement you need today from a possible future need. Use the directory to identify plausible candidates, then ask them to confirm the detail that matters for your products and channels. A shortlist is useful when it reduces the number of open questions as well as the number of providers. Bring the remaining questions into the next discussion.
Use this question in your next meeting:
What would someone need to see to reach the same conclusion?
